The "Church", is it on a Path to Hell?
“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’” Matthew 7:23
A cozy verse in the Bible that truly I can say brings me deep sorrow. Not because I fear this for myself but because I fear this for many of you who say you are brothers and sisters in Christ. Many of you speak with no words at all, but many of you that do speak at all, speak with words that hold as much weight as the plastic bag that liters the streets of Dallas.
I write knowing that many of you will write this off as a message of anger, and a message full of "too much" emotion. That I am aware. But tell me how should one respond when you know there are many that will die and never know the truth of who Christ is? Many that will die and be turned away by the Father who sought them all their life, but they never could see past their own comfort and satisfaction to see Him.
Tell me shall I rejoice and sing a song of praise that you rejoice here on earth in your own monetary gain? Shall I sing a hymn of praise that shouts in joy that you settle for a less than Gospel and half truth of the God that I serve? Let me dance for the hypocrisy of the members of the church that have turned the house of God into a building made for business that tends to the idols of their own lives. I’m not ignorant to the world that I know I must directly call out specifically the idols of distraction; sports, money, work, comfort, theology, religion, music, must I continue? Things that once were, and still can be, a gift from God, that the western church has taken with gluttony.
My brother and sister in Christ, I plead with you, wake up to the tactics of the Devil. Open your eyes to the evil that surrounds you. Listen with your ears to the voice of the Father. Discern the voice of the enemy that leads you into an ignorant bliss of sin. Wake up.
It is not the repentant sinners that will reap the righteous punishment of hell, but rather the righteous and rich in this world.
“Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles. And then I will declare to them ‘I never knew you; LEAVE ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’” Matthew 7:24
I speak to the school I attend and the members within it. Sorrowfully, I see many of these are the ones putting on the stamp of approval from one of the most world renown seminaries, yet I must say I see many ignorant to the Spirit of God. I speak to the church and the members who show up on Sunday professing Jesus and leave fearful and disgusted by the poor, orphaned, and widowed that we see on the streets. I must ask, where is your compassion? Where is your representation of the Christ whom you use to exalt your own name?
Tell me, did Christ run to the comfort of His own home or was he often without a home?
Tell me, did Christ run to the rich and seek refuge from the sketchy areas of town, or did he run to the hostile places and meet the woman at the well?
Tell me, did Christ speak empty words to another, or did he speak to the face of the pharisees with boldness for what was true and right?
Tell me, did Christ die so that you may forget the weight of your sin and do as you please, or did Christ die so you may understand the weight of your sin to see the Glory of His grace and love?
Faith is action, my friends.
If you worry more about the happiness of yourself maybe you’ve spent too long doing nothing that truly matters. It is time to wake up, I beg you, wake up before your heart leads you too far away to return. Not that Christ would never accept you back because I know by His grace that I too often run too far from Him. But “The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; Who can understand it?” Jeremiah 17:9.
In your own hands you will drive yourself away from the one who sets you free, but in God’s hands, this is where beautiful revival will take place in the soul of His creation.
“I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, To give to each person according to his ways, According to the results of his deeds." Jeremiah 17:10
I often wondered how the holocaust could have taken place. Regretfully, I see how a heart can grow cold and hardened to the poor, abused, and abandoned of this world.
Slow, steady, and purposeful deaths led by the righteous at heart too prideful to even desire to help.
My heart is not to shame anyone, but only for a moment, so that you might realize your sin and turn to the better way that is Christ Jesus.
"For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’
Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? And when did we see You as a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? And when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’
And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of Mine, you did it for Me.’" Matthew 25:35-40
